Well worth a read & if you can go along - will be good.
When you follow God in wholehearted obedience, and suddenly your entire world falls apart; when you deepest, most urgent prayers are met with silence – can faith survive?
Muddy Pearl are thrilled to announce that Alain Emerson, Leader of Emmanuel Church Lurgan and 24-7 Prayer Ireland, will be speaking at Aye Write! Book Festival in Glasgow on the 16th March 2019 on his book, Luminous Dark.
Luminous Dark is a profound insight into bereavement, for all of us looking for a language for our grief, and a way to live in the reality of loss and disappointment. This event is a great opportunity for those who are walking through grief, or supporting those who are, and anyone who is wanting to gain a deeper understanding of where God is in suffering, to hear from one who has walked this path before.
At the age of just 27, Alain Emerson, as a young pastor found himself widowed having lost his beautiful young wife to cancer. Experiencing the bewildering silence of God, the absence of simple answers, and life in the dark tunnel of despair, his once-firm faith felt like it was crumbling.
And yet, as he chose to wrestle with God and ‘lean into the pain’ and to face God with his disappointment, it is in this place of suffering where Alain meets with the God who who knows our pain, who walks beside us, suffers and weeps with us, and who ultimately restores our joy.
The event is being held at 4:45pm – 5:45pm at the Mitchell Library. Tickets are available now on the Aye Write! website. ... See MoreSee Less
